The Challenge ›
Fully refurbished in 2003, the Electric Cinema is a small independently run art-house cinema in West London offering a varied programme of feature films and special events. A web site was needed that was informative, stylish and easy to manage, with support for different screening types and discounts for members.
The Solution ›
Working closely with the cinema management team, Livewire designed and developed the website to showcase the newly refurbished cinema and its programme. Using PHP and mySQL technology, we developed a bespoke Content Management System which allows film programme details and other page data to be entered and managed independently.
To keep the public informed of upcoming screenings and events Livewire provided a newsletter management system. Using a branded email template staff are able to compose and distribute newsletters on a weekly basis. Livewire also provides managed hosting for the site.

The site now receives over 1,500 visits every day and the email subscriber list has grown to over 22,000 strong since launch. Electric Cinema have retained Livewire’s services since the cinema opened in 2003. Since then we have upgraded the site to include popup film trailers, and recently integrated a third-party online tickets booking system.
